THE 6TH GRADE trip to Des Moines is set for Friday, April 23.  We will be leaving from school at 7:00 a.m.  We will visit the Iowa Hall of Pride and the State Capitol.  We will arrive back home at approximately 4:00 p.m.

We would like parent chaperones for this trip.  Unfortunately, because of the large class size, there is no room for parents to ride on the bus.  If you are interested in attending as a chaperone, please call or e-mail me at school.

Parents:
We have been seeing lots of overly tired kids at school lately.  Many of them have told us that they are up as late at 1:00 a.m. talking, texting, playing video games, etc.  This has caused some overly tired students fighting to stay awake in class.

I thought some of you would appreciate this message.  You may want to check on your child after they go to bed, especially if they sleep with their cell phone.

Thank you for taking the time to attend your child's parent-teacher conference.  Your attendance shows your child that you value education and that you think their education is important.  I enjoyed the many good conversations with parents of both 5th and 6th Graders.

If you were unable to attend your child's conference, their mid-term will be sent home on Monday, March 8.  Please sign and return the note attached to the mid-term by Friday, March 12.
